The South Georgian Bay Youth Career Expo offers youth a chance to find a summer job, and highlights all the interesting career opportunities, right in their own backyard.
The third annual Career Expo will be held on Tuesday, May 1st at the Village Conference Centre at Blue Mountain Resort.
With 60 exhibitors, more than 800 youth from regional high schools, and eight different breakout session, this year's event
is shaping up to be the most successful so far.
Students will have a chance to learn more about employment in a variety of sectors, including finance, manufacturing,
emergency services, entrepreneurship, military, skilled trades, technology, tourism and more. There will also be
representatives on-site who hire students, co-op students or student volunteers.
Breakout sessions will give students an in-depth look at several topics that can assist them as they make career decisions.
Topics such as financial planning, job interview practice, social media in the workplace and managing stress will provide
practical skills, while a session on military careers will provide additional information on a unique career path. Panel
sessions featuring tradespeople, post-secondary students, and youth entrepreneurs will offer a range of experiences for
students to learn from,
The third annual South Georgian Bay Youth Career Expo is organized by volunteers, students, school staff, representatives
from the South Georgian Bay campus of Georgian College, Tracks, the Rural Ontario Medical Program, Blue Mountain Resort,
Blue Mountain Village Association, the Collingwood Youth Centre, the Town of Collingwood’s Marketing and Business
Development Department and the South Georgian Bay Small Business Enterprise Centre.
