Local Band, Mad River, goes National !

Mad River, a Collingwood/Duntroon band, have entered a new original song, ‘Body & Soul’, in the CBC Searchlight Music Contest.

“Searchlight is CBC Music’s long-running hunt for Canada’s undiscovered musical talent, judged by a combination of audience voting (by the public) and a panel of celebrity judges, who represent a cross-section of the best that the Canadian music industry has to offer”. (CBC Searchlight)

Neill Lanz, Craig Smith and Rick Garner have been enjoying the journey of creating original music, in Mad River Studio, Duntroon. Their 1st album, Swamp Music, was released in the Spring of 2017 (madrivermusic.ca). Mad River are currently recording a 2nd album to be released this Spring 2019, featuring the song Body & Soul.

Neill said,”This Canada-wide Music Contest is a great opportunity for us to share our music and get it out there”!

The Band reside in Duntroon and Collingwood. Band mates John Hall and Michael Donovan live in Wasaga Beach and Collingwood respectively.
