Small Business Month was launched in 2002 and works to promote opportunities and support systems available to those interested in starting or expanding their small business.
The Business Development Centre (BDC) is a collaborative project between the Town of Collingwood, the Downtown Collingwood Business Improvement Area (BIA), the provincially supported Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC), and the federally supported Centre for Business and Economic Development (CBED). They are a group of professionals dedicated to supporting the interests of local businesses.
The BDC partners offer business guidance, mentorship programs, start-up information, business registration, business loans, and many other resources to support Collingwood and the greater surrounding area. They are looking to work with the local business community to promote a growing, flourishing economy. Collingwood is not only a great place "to live, work and play," it's a great place to do business.
The Centre is holding an official celebration of Small Business Month on October 22nd. Interested parties are invited to drop in to the BDC office at 105 Hurontario Street between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to meet the minds behind the BDC and discuss their plans to promote business growth. Bring your innovative ideas, your creativity and your passion for business. Special guest speakers will be presenting at 5:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
