Once again CONGRATULATIONS to our Collingwood Run Site!!! This will be one of my final blogs! So Thank you to each and every one of you who have been following my blogs and who have taken part in the 2009 Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure in Collingwood! $166,812.04 is AMAZING! And it hasn't stopped there, donations will still come in until the end of October!
I wanted to share this with you... Please check out the video that Richard and Christa from Isis Photography have put together with some of the photo's they took at the walk / run on Sunday.
Also please check out the photo's that Julie and Dan took as well in the photo gallery of this very website!
Once again Thank you to all of our Local Sponsors, Guest Speakers, Donors and Participants! We are already thinking about ways to make the 2010 run even better! Mark the date down now and we shall see you next year on Sunday October 3rd 2010 at Harbourview Park in Collingwood!
Special Thanks to Julie & Dan for giving us this blog space to keep all of you up to date on what has been happening with the walk / run!
Thank YOU...... Yesterday was an amazing day! Not only did the weather end up turning out to be beautiful, but once again our Collingwood run site broke all our past records! I have always known what an amazing area we live in. But for the past two years as Co-Run Director for this run site, I have been blown away.
We had a record number of teams registered, we had a record number of participants attend the event, we had two teams The Highlights lead by Mary Worry and Rita's Bosom Buddies lead by Rita Bette, both pass $30,000 raised by their teams at our Run Site in the last 5 years! We also had two teams raise more then $10,000 each which is a first as well.
Rusty's Bar & BBQ raised over $11,000 and Drew Crew raised over $10,000!! And if that wasn't enough, as of run day yesterday the money our Collingwood run site raised was $166,812.04!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't stop there either.... Donations still keep coming in until the end of October! So if you happen to have people still donating to you that is fabulous!
Once again THANK YOU! Thank you to all the Participants, Volunteers, Donors, Sponsors, and to my fabulous committee!
If you log onto the website today you will see that you are already able to pre-register for the 2010 Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure. Great job so far everyone! Good luck with the rest of your fundraising... Check back in a couple days for a new update! To see your name in the Top 5 get fundraising!! The easiest way to fundraise is to send out an email asking your co-workers, family and friends to sponsor you for the walk / run... Everyone wants to feel like they are doing their part to help, so you never know who will donate, just send the email and wait and see! The #1 reason why people said that they don't donate is " They were never asked "!! So make sure you at least ask. If the answer is no, it's not personal, maybe they have already given this year.... Good Luck! :)
Collingwood now has 40 teams registered!!! We are only 10 teams away from having the most teams ever registered for our run site!!
We are also only 19 days away from the team t-shirt deadline! September 18 2009 all teams must have 10 team members fully registered in order to get team names on the back of their shirts! If you have any questions email our team coordinators Shelby or Michelle at Teams_Collingwood@cbcfrun.org .... If you are still wanting to register your team now is your chance, there is still time!

Fabulous job to all the participants so far with your fundraising! To register to take part in this very special day or do donate to a participant CLICK HERE!
Here is a link where you will be able to watch a video to find out more about the Ontario Region of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. I have been lucky enough this year to hear both Dr. Shailendra Verma and Dr. Jean-Philippe Pignol speak in person, while Dr. Pignol is not on this video Dr. Verma does tell you about this work, work that has been made possible because of YOU and the money that you work so hard to fundraise!
Last night our Collingwood Run Committee held our 1st ever Night of Appreciation and Information for the participants of the Collingwood Run Site such as our Top Fundraisers, Team Captains, Team Members and Local Sponsors. It was a fabulous event! We would like to give a HUGE Thank You to Jonathan Reid and all of the staff at Blue Mountain Resorts for helping to make last night possible! As well as Richard & Christa from Isis Photography for being on hand last night to capture the night on film, Julie and Dan from this very website mycollingwood.ca for also being there to snaps some photos, which can be found now in the photo gallery of this page ( along with a few from Isis as well )... As well as a special Thanks to both Joanne Fraraccio & Alysha Croker our guest speakers for making the trip up to Collingwood to tell us about how the money that everyone here works so very hard to raise to really making a difference! We also can't forget to Thank Josh Barrett & Jeremy Ruttan for both working very hard to help us create a special video from the Collingwood Run Site! And what the night was all about was Thanking YOU, the participants for all of your hard work in making the Collingwood Run Site a huge success! As you heard first hand from Joanne Fraraccio - Fundraising & Stewardship Officer from the Ontario Region of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Collingwood is a "small" run site! But we are anything but small in terms of the dollars raised! In 2008 Collingwood had a 30% increase in total money raised over 2007, it was the 2nd Highest increase in all of Ontario and the 4th Highest Increase in the whole Country!! So Congratulations to all of YOU!
If you would like to be a part of this very successful run site please Register today!
Don't forget this is Paint Canada Pink Week so wear your pink this week. The CIBC branch in Collingwood is holding their annual Paint Canada Pink Week BBQ on Friday & Saturday in front of the branch, so stop by and help support a great cause! We are up to 36 Teams registered in Collingwood now!!! That now puts us at just 14 teams away from having the most teams ever registered at our run site in Collingwood!! Very exciting !
We would like to that Wakestock, the Town of Collingwood and all the people who came by our "pink" tent to support the cause this past weekend. We had a great time, through the sun and rain! Every dollar raised is going to the cause, so it was well worth it! Thanks again!!
We are starting to head into some team deadline times... We are just over 1 month away from our Team T-Shirt deadline... So if you haven't yet registered your team and want to get your team name on the backs of the shirts, Register Now. If you already have a team registered this might be a good time to remind your team to get working on their fundraising. They either need to raise $150 to waive the reg. fee or to pay the $40 reg. fee by September 18th to get the team names on the back of the shirts... You must have 10 team members fully registered by that date.... It is great to walk around on run day and see all the team names on everyones shirts.... If you have any questions about Teams email Shelby or Michelle our Team Coordinators at Teams_Collingwood@cbcfrun.org Good Luck to all with your fundraising! And if any of you are hosting events to raise money please email me at jnichol@cbcfrun.org and give me the details and I can post it on our blog for you!
