Want a fabulous way to start the holiday season, something that will put everyone in the festive spirit? The Last Christmas Turkey is just the ticket you’ve been looking for! This full length holiday play will put everyone in the mood for turkey and all the fixings.

The Last Christmas Turkey, by renowned Canadian playwright Dan Needles, is making a return to Downtown Collingwood and the Gayety stage. Premiering in November 2005, The Last Christmas Turkey surpassed audience expectations and received critical accolades. This year’s revived production with two new actors Jody Stevens as Nancy and Jarrod MacLean as her brother Braden will bring a fresh approach to this entertaining family production.

The Last Christmas Turkey is a play within the play. The Children have returned to their family’s home to assist their parents in downsizing. Nancy and Braden, on this particular day have decided to tackle the attic. While sorting through the many boxes, they rediscover the magic and the imagination of their youth, resulting in the telling of the following story. As youngsters they discovered that a lone turkey had been forgotten and left behind to die. The siblings take Tom the Turkey to their old stable for safety. Unknowingly, they have heroically rescued the "Last Christmas Turkey" destined for the church supper.

Eighteen characters are involved in telling this delightful story, played by the two actors, and assisted with the use of masks and larger than life puppets.

A wonderful play with themes of parental love and the importance of family, presented as a comedy that appeals to all ages. The Last Christmas Turkey, presented by Theatre Collingwood, runs at the Gayety Theatre from November 29th to December 9th. With only 10 performances tickets are sure to be gobbled up quickly.
