It’s easy to figure out what to do with yourself and your cute little darlings in the winter or summer in Southern Georgian Bay. The question is... what do you do when it’s shoulder season and raining? Well we’ve done some research for you and put it all together in our Rainy Day Guide. There is something for everyone and you just might be inspired to try something new.

Our Double Dollars Marketplace has started off as a huge success. Make sure you check the Double Dollars Marketplace open every Wednesday at 10am sharp. Just look for the Double Dollars icon on our home page and you can check out what is available in advance every week. You can buy gift certificates from area restaurants, retail stores and attractions for half price. This is a fantastic way to double your Christmas shopping dollars... sounds crazy and I hate to think about it... but Christmas is a mere 9 weeks away. Yikes.

We have another new feature on our website and are very pleased and excited to introduce Tomorrow Today, a daily blog by Carole Matthews, Intuitive Medium. Carole is well known in our area and her insight is truly amazing. With a warm heart and a keen sense of meaning and purpose, Carole Matthews touches the lives of people everywhere. Whether given in a private session or broadcast to thousands over national media, Carole’s message is one of hope, clarity and spiritual enlightenment. It is a message that few will forget. To find out more about Carole, visit her website http://www.carolematthewsintuitive.com/index.htm

Yum! Copper Blues in The Village at Blue presents their $22 Steak & Seafood menu once again. This is a terrific deal that you won’t want to miss. The special runs from October 22nd to November 30th.

Experience the Haunted Walks of Collingwood’s Past! As the downtown ignites its passion for Halloween, the streets downtown will be a scary place. With spiders, ghosts and witches placed carefully on the frightful tour. The shadowy streets will reveal the dark history, ghostly stories and unsolved mysteries of our downtown days gone by! Trick or Treating, Children’s Activities and Best Costume Contests will start for the children at 4 p.m. The Haunted Guided Tours depart from Town Hall at 7 p.m. Call 445-5595 for more information or visit http://www.downtowncollingwood.com/Promo_Blackharvest.html

For other exciting Halloween festivities check out our Events Calendar and don’t forget to drop by Boston Pizza for your free Halloween Loot Bag that comes with a free kids meal and other treats. No purchase necessary... just ask the nice person at the front desk... available while supplies last... so hurry up.

How smart do you think you are? Well, now it’s time to put your money where your mouth is. Register to take part in an event that is tremendous fun! Last year we were invited to attend the Collingwood Chamber of Commerce Trivia Challenge. We learned two important things... it was way more fun than we thought it would be. It was a riot. However, I was quite surprised to find out that we were not as smart as we thought we were. It sounded simple enough... a bunch of multiple choice questions…surely we could get the right answer every time... or at least most of the time... ha! For only $25 this is a very entertaining evening. Boston Pizza is hosting the event this year on November 7th... a great venue... so don’t miss out... call the Chamber of Commerce today and register with Trish or Marie at 445.0221. You don’t have to be a Chamber member to participate.
