The Town of Collingwood and Collingwood Downtown are pleased to announce the "Collingwood Jazz in Winter" music series starting November 21. The series will offer concerts once a month; the third Wednesday from 7 to 9pm at the Gayety Theatre in the heart of Downtown Collingwood.

"Jazz In Winter" will present a series of six concerts and feature an excellent line up of well-known groups to provide a smooth and mellow listening experience.

Each "Jazz in Winter" concert will host a different local service organization that will have materials and information available to inform you of the work that they are Involved with and its value to our community.

Series tickets will be available shortly for just $70 for all six concerts and are available at:

Wednesday November 21 will feature the Shelaugh Hart Quintet. Shelaugh appeared at the Collingwood “Jazz at the Station” this summer and was an overwhelming success. Shelaugh has a large following in central Ontario and will be recording her first long awaited CD at this concert, join Shelaugh and her band for this memorable occasion.

JBG Productions of Collingwood and the United Way of South Georgian Bay in cooperation with the Gayety Theatre produce the series. The complete schedule for the series:

  • DECEMBER – NO CONCERT IN DECEMBER
  • JANUARY 23 – Anderson/Sloski/The Joint Chiefs of Soul
  • FEBRUARY 20 – The Regal Jazz Band
  • MARCH 19 - Collingwood Collegiate Big Jazz band
  • APRIL 16 – Shawne Jackson The Music of Billie Holiday
  • MAY 21 – The Otherside of Brass
Mark the third Wednesday of each month on your calendar, to come on Downtown and enjoy dinner at one of our fine restaurants, enjoy the performance at the Gayety and then wind down your evening with friends at one of the establishments in Downtown Collingwood.
