heart and hand, an exhibition celebrating artistic creations made by the youth in our community, opens at the Leonard E. Shore Memorial Library Gallery on June 29th. A reception, with the artists in attendance, will take place on this date from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
heart and hand is an open expression show, in which children in the community have been asked to enter their favorite piece of artwork. The exhibition also showcases the results of the Library’s take pART program for 2005 – 2006. This program, the brainchild of Maureen Munden, was possible through a generous grant to the library from the Ministry of Culture’s Library Strategic Development Fund. All children and youth are invited to participate in this show of creativity. No boundaries, or parameters have been given, thus producing an eclectic, grass roots flavour from the heart and hand. Drop off of art takes place on Thursday, June 22nd, Friday, June 23rd or Saturday, June 24th at the L.E. Shore Library. Please call Maureen Munden at 599 – 2780 if you need to make alternative drop off arrangements.
