THORNBURY, ON – Artist's Choice, an exhibit at the L.E. Shore Memorial Library in Thornbury, commemorates the beginning of the 20th year of activities for the Georgian Bay Arts & Crafts Association. The exhibit opens on Saturday, March 4th, with a reception from 2 to 4pm. The artists of the Georgian Bay Arts & Crafts Association (GBACA) will be in attendance and will also celebrate the launch of their new brochure “GBACA The Art Source.” Don't miss this opportunity to visit with, view, and purchase the work of some of our finest local artists.

The Georgian Bay Arts & Crafts Association was created in the early 1980's by the Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting. The intention of the group was to promote their abundant local art community to the world-at-large and to create art-based activities for group participation. Surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Georgian Bay and the Blue Mountains, this rapidly growing group of talented artists now has regular shows that allow GBACA members an opportunity to display and sell work to the public. There are currently over 140 GBACA members working in a variety of media. Their work, and more information about the Association can be found on the web at: www.gbaca.com.

The exhibit Artist's Choice, at the L.E. Shore Memorial Library, will feature paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, craft pieces and other art mediums. More than 50 GBACA members will participate by sharing their “best and newest” work. Viewers will be encouraged to vote for their favourite work and prizes will be awarded. Many works will be available to purchase.
