You don't have to travel far away to the 'big smoke' to savour the flavour of top-notch cuisine. Just ask Tim Johnston, Executive Chef at Cobble Beach. From now until March 9th, Tim and Restaurant Manager Lisa Taylor along with their talented culinary staff, are showcasing the Sweetwater Restaurant to the community with their first ever Winterlicious event. And yes, it is every bit as delectable and taste tantalizing as it sounds!
Similar to the winter and summer initiative of the same name in Toronto, the Cobble Beach version of Winterlicious features a carefully selected menu with a table d'hote that changes weekly. For those in need of the translation, the French term simply means 'host's table' where there is a set meal with multiple courses. It's just like going to your friend's place for dinner, only your friend happens to be an expert chef!
From rainbow trout to beef brisket, Tim looks forward to surprising patrons over the next several weeks with something slightly out of the ordinary and appetizingly adventurous for our area. For those in self-imposed hibernation during the dog days of winter who just might be willing to emerge and venture off the beaten path, Winterlicious is the perfect solution. It is an opportunity for both visitors and residents alike to come discover Cobble Beach.
Since its seemingly sudden development up in quiet Kemble only a few short years ago, Cobble Beach has already received top accolades amongst the best of the best. Links Magazine out of New York placed the new establishment in its top 20 list of golf resorts in Canada, while Travel + Leisure Golf Magazine went so far as to list it as one of the top 10 best new courses in the world.
But while the golf course thrives from spring to fall, the main course is quickly becoming renowned during the winter and year round. Yes, Cobble Beach is seven days a week, twelve months a year, and much more than just a golfer's paradise. Fine dining, an amazing spa, a fitness centre, meeting space for businesses, the luxurious Inn, high-in-demand wedding facilities, tennis courts, and a growing resident community are all part of the Cobble experience. There are also bountiful trails for hiking and cross-country skiing, and ongoing events and activities including a public skating rink for families.
If the February blahs have set in, a good taste of winter has arrived on the menu to spice things up with Winterlicious. Learn more about Cobble Beach by visiting their website.
