Many people find the winter hard to take.....it's cold, it gets dark early and yeah, it's cold. But one of the best ways to enjoy winter is to actually get outside and do something. That's where Free Spirit Tours comes in. They can help with that, because that's what they do!
Free Spirit Tours provides a variety of activities that are fun and a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
They offer snowshoeing, cross country skiing, a winter survival skills program and their most popular winter activity; caving.
A guide is with you on all these excursions and they will show you everything you need to know. All of the guides are super friendly and have loads of experience. Plus they love what they do, so their enthusiasm is contagious!
Free Spirit Tours caters their snowshoeing and cross country skiing to your ability. If you're a first timer then they have a nice gentle trail to follow. But if you want to go hard core and be really challenged, that can be arranged too!
The winter caving is a fun outing for kids, families or a group of friends. Groups snowshoe in to where the caves are and then once there you climb and crawl your way through. This underworld is incredible to experience in the winter. Once you're out of the caves, have a bonfire and enjoy some hot apple cider.
The winter survival skills program is for those who want to learn about starting a fire outside, orienteering and shelter building - all great skills to have. This program is led by Rosa Furness who has taught it to school groups for over 7 years and by Mark Toma who taught the skills in the military.
All of the activities take place no more than a 20 minute drive from Collingwood, and transportation can be provided. No matter what activity you choose to do - you'll have a fun time. And who knows? You may just end up getting hooked on a new winter sport!
Gift certificates are available for Christmas presents!
