4th annual men's high heel walk to raise money and awareness about domestic violence. On October 3rd, 2015 men from The Georgian Triangle, led by Deputy Mayor, Brian Saunderson, will wear red high heels and walk a one mile route to raise money and awareness around the issue of Domestic Violence and My Friend's House. Last year over $36,000 was raised and this year organizers hope to increase that number.
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes will start at 10:30am and depart from Collingwood Town Hall on Hurontario St. in Downtown Collingwood.

"The support and community spirit we had last year, just shows the unfortunate need for My Friends House in our community. Domestic abuse touches everyone directly or indirectly." Said third year walker and event co-chair Matt McLean from 95.1 The Peak FM.
My Friend's House relies heavily on fundraising events like Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, other fundraising events and donations to cover the over $200,000 funding shortfall and is Southern Georgian Bay's only shelter and support program specifically designed to provide safe refuge and support to abused women and their children escaping violence and abuse.
