The Blue Mountain Village Foundation is pleased to announce that a donation will be made to big Brothers Big Sisters Georgian Triangle. A donation of $6,000 will be presented to the organization on April 13th, 2015 at 10 am in the Blue Mountain Village in front of Sunset Grill. Jarvis Strong and Christy Coutts will receive a cheque from the Foundation board members; Bruce Melhuish, Don Braden, and Stacy Manning.
"The Foundation reviewed many applications for funds and all were very deserving," says Don Braden, President of the Foundation. "We chose to support Big Brothers Big Sisters in School Mentoring Program which pairs a child in need of a mentor with a co-op student or adult mentor for 1 hour/week during the school year at school and is very attractive to new volunteers. This program has demonstrated that participants are more engaged in the classroom and have increased self-confidence among many other benefits."
"This generous contribution will make a big difference with our In-School Mentoring program. The ongoing support from the Blue Mountain Village Foundation has allowed us to continually evolve our mentoring programs and serve a growing number of Georgian Triangle children and youth." says Jarvis Strong, Executive Director,
