Autumn is here and with it brings fantastic tastes and events all around the area.  Dags & Willow has some amazing side dishes that you can pre-order, Espresso Post has a delectable offering of fresh baking and the Ravenna Country Market is another favourite for this time of year. 

Don’t forget to order your turkey from Blue Ridge Meats. 

Read on below for some great options, web links and phone numbers that will make Thanksgiving a snap whether you’re creating from scratch, need just a little help, are outsourcing the whole meal or making reservations.

Thanksgiving weekend is when the Apple Harvest Festival and the Annual Turkey Tent Event  at Blue Mountain always take place.  Note this year the new location for the Turkey Tent Event is South Base lodge – more space and more parking.

Celebrate the Apple Harvest with the Apple Harvest Festival in the Blue Mountain Village, Clarksburg and Thornbury.  Click for a full schedule of events.

The Pottery Restaurant is featuring Tastes of Autumn with their Fall Harvest Menu  and Pottery Thanksgiving, plus they are offering Turkey To Go.  For more information or to make reservations, call The Pottery at 705.443.5509. 

Check out the brand new Whiskeylicious menu that Chef Bob Bickmore has just put out at Catch 22 Fresh Market Grill.  Each item on the menu features the newly released Collingwood Whiskey.  

The Olde Town Terrace is offering a traditional Turkey Dinner with house made dressing, gravy and cranberries, your choice of a Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with Apple or a Fall Harvest Salad to start and a delicious slice of pumpkin pie to finish.  All for only $27.99 per person.  This special menu is offered only on Thanksgiving weekend on the Friday, Saturday or Sunday starting at 5pm.  Call 705.445.6950 to make your reservations or order your dinner to take home.

If you’re cooking up your own bird and want to kick things up a notch Dags & Willow has some amazing side dishes that you can order. 

• Apple Cranberry Bread Stuffing with Toasted Almonds - $4.50 per person
• Rosemary Scented Roasted Root Vegetables including Parsnip, Carrot, Russet Potatoes and Butternut Squash $2.95 per person
• Golden Beet Salad with Fennel, Sugar Snap Peas and Feta - $3.95 per person

Espresso Post is baking up a storm and their signature Upside Down Ginger Apple Cake actually outsells their Pumpkin Pie.  They’ve also got Squash Harvest Loaf and Zucchini Sunflower Loaf.  Call ahead to place your order 705.446.1740 and enjoy an Apple Caramel Latte when you go in to pick up your order.  Yum!

The Ravenna Country Market is baking round the clock and you can reserve your fruit or pumpkin pie by calling 519.599.2796.  Don’t forget they have incredible frozen soups made in house.  A great way to start off your Thanksgiving feast.
