|Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series® returns to the Town of Blue Mountains for another amazing event this winter in support of The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. This year’s Romp to Stomp will be held on January 21, 2012 at the Scenic Caves Nordic Centre. Tubbs Snowshoes invites veteran Rompers and new stompers of all ages to join in the fun of the largest snowshoe series in North America.|
As colder weather begins to ease in, Rompers can look forward to a festive, family-friendly way to continue the fight against breast cancer. Since its inception in 2003, Tubbs Romp to Stomp has raised more than $1.7 million for breast cancer awareness, education and research and has engaged more than 23,000 participants across North America.
Tubbs Romp to Stomp Ontario will be celebrating its fifth anniversary this winter with the hopes of raising $75,000. In year one, 175 participants entered and with yearly growth the goal is to host 750 participants in year five. Overall, more than $100,000 has been raised for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation! Participants of all ages can choose from a 3k or 5k snowshoe walk or a 3k snowshoe race.
“It is very exciting to see our event grow so significantly year after year. We created this fun outdoor event to promote the importance of healthy living, raise breast cancer awareness and ultimately contribute to creating a future without breast cancer. The local and North American support for our Series has been overwhelming. It makes us all proud to be a part of something so special. Having a winter event that promotes getting outdoors and living a healthy and active lifestyle is fantastic”. said David Blasak, Sales and Marketing Manager, Tubbs Canada.
Tubbs Romp to Stomp encourages kids and teams to get involved as well this year. New for year five is the addition and recognition of teams who have entered. Teams looking to register are encouraged to dress up and show spirit by putting together their best pink inspired costume. Teams will be awarded with great prizing from Tubbs Snowshoes, K2 and many other contributing sponsors for the best team costumes along with the top fundraising team. Teams can sign up using the standard registration process but are requested to include their team name upon registration. Teams can be of any domination more than two people.
For those participants who wish to register but do not currently own snow shoes, Tubbs will offer free demo snowshoes on a first-come, first-serve basis which will be available at the Kamikaze Demo Tent.
