Blue Mountain is known for hosting festivals and events during the summer months. Many local artists and notable Canadian bands have played in the Village Plaza with great support from music lovers in the area as well as from guests visiting the Resort.
"In the Georgian Triangle, community members often have to travel to major cities to see bands as iconic as the Tragically Hip," states Tara Lovell, Manager of Public Relations at Blue Mountain Resort. "We are fortunate at Blue Mountain to have the resources and the venue to bring this event closer to home and we're looking forward to being a part of this pretty spectacular Canadian experience."
The Tragically Hip's Man Machine Poem tour will wrap in Kingston, Ontario on Saturday, August 20 and Blue Mountain Resort in partnership with Blue Mountain Village Association will be hosting a free public screening of CBC's live broadcast of the concert. A video wall will be set up in the Events Plaza at the main stage with the concert starting at 8:30pm.
Blue Mountain is expecting a large crowd for the event and we suggest coming early and parking at either lot 1 or 3. "We know we have a community of music enthusiasts," says Patti Kendall, Director Marketing and Events for the Blue Mountain Village. "The Tragically Hip is one of the most notable bands in Canadian music and in an area that is passionate about home-grown talent, we know we'll see quite a turn-out."
