Commemorate the War of 1812 Bicentennial in Collingwood. Experience the breathtaking power and beauty of authentic Tall Ships when they sail into Collingwood Harbour August 16-18, 2013. Along with onboard deck tours and evening dockside receptions (tickets required), there are free activities including War of 1812 re-enactments, interactive displays, live music, and much more!

Collingwood is one of 15 Ontario ports that are part of The TALL SHIPS 1812 Tour, presented by Redpath Sugar.  This tour, produced in partnership with the TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE Great Lakes 2013 series, takes place across the province from June 14 to September 2, and features tall ships from around the world.  Collingwood's three-day event, presented by the Town of Collingwood, Collingwood Downtown, and the Georgian Triangle Tourist Association, will feature three tall ships.  Lynx is a 122' Square Topsail Schooner from Newport Beach, California.  Friends Good Will is a 101' Square Topsail Sloop out of South Haven, Michigan, and Madeline is a 92' Gaff Topsail Schooner, 2-masted, from Traverse City, Michigan.

The festivities surrounding the ships are numerous and include:

The Parade of Sail - Takes place in Collingwood Harbour on Friday at approximately 8pm, weather permitting.  Watch the ships sail into Collingwood Harbour in full mast on their return from Wasaga Beach where they will have participated in Wasaga Under Siege.

Deck Tours - Take place Saturday and Sunday, 9am - 5pm, on board the ships. Avoid long line-ups in hopes of stepping aboard a majestic Tall Ship. Reserve your guaranteed deck tour time and step aboard for a guided tour and chance to speak with the crew members. Tickets are only $7 per person, per ship (all tax and fees included). Choose to tour one or more of the ships at the times most convenient for you.

Show & Shine - Members of the Georgian Bay British Car Club will bring their vintage British cars to Millennium Park on Saturday from 10am to 3pm for a classic Show and Shine, weather permitting.

Ribfest - Will be at The Station, 45 St. Paul Street, all weekend long. Presented by and in support of Home Horizon, this event features fall-off-the-bone ribs by the top rib chefs in the business. Additional food stations, children's activities, and live music are also onsite. Admission is free. Food prices vary.

Dockside Receptions - This is an opportunity to spend more time with the Tall Ships. Spend a warm summer evening on the North Wharf Saturday at 5pm, Saturday at 7pm, or Sunday at 7pm. Enjoy a gourmet meal, private deck tour, and live music into the night.  The Saturday 5pm reception is hosted by and in support of the Collingwood Museum and will also feature a lecture by historian Dr. Todd Stubbs. Tickets for each reception are only $88 per person (all tax and fees included). Museum members receive a discounted rate on the Saturday 5pm event.

Regional Activities - Additional activities will be taking place throughout the region in celebration of the Tall Ship Tour, including Wasaga Under Siege at Wasaga Beach and the Tall Ship Celebration at Blue Mountain Resort.
