It’s been 5 years since Tail Wags Helmet Covers first started popping up on the ski slopes in Collingwood. Now you can see them adorning the safety helmets of skiers, snowboarders and skaters in ski resorts across North America.

If you see a Fairy Princess with her pink veil floating in the wind behind her or a dog helmet cover with ears flapping and tail wagging, it’s a Tail Wags’ product.

Kids and adults alike have jumped on the Tail Wags bandwagon to have some fun while keeping it safe!
So how did this Toronto based mom, Karyn Climans, succeed in turning her business from a small operation into a company selling helmet covers internationally? “You have to have a well made and distinctive product to start. After that, hard work and the drive to succeed is key.”, replies Karyn. “I am constantly spreading the word about my products. If people don’t know about your merchandise, they can’t buy them”.

So Karyn spends 50% of her time creating her designs and 50% of her time marketing them. Word-of-mouth also goes a long way in helping to spread the excitement over Tail Wags Helmet Covers. “Customers also tell me they feel they should be carrying around my business cards whenever they’re wearing their Tail Wags helmet cover. People are always saying, ‘I love it - where did you get it??’”
There are over 40 Tail Wags designs to choose from and the entire product line can be viewed at at our website.

Want to know where you can buy them locally? They’re sold at Skiis & Bikes, Squire John’s and Sporting Life.
