Theatre Collingwood is delighted to present the production of The Foursome - June 24-28, 2014 at The Historic Gayety Theatre. This production is sponsored by Noble Insurance. This play was written by one of Canada's best known playwright, Norm Foster

The Foursome is sure to both entertain and inspire. Norm Foster has written a warm, intelligent comedy full of rousing laughs. What happens when four old friends meet for a golf game after their class reunion is a hysterical glimpse at the male mind on the golf course when women aren't around. They have a lot of catching up to do.

Norm Foster has been called Canada's preeminent comic playwright, being one of the most prolific and most produced of all Canadian dramatists. Halifax’s Chronicle-Herald wrote, "Foster's stage writing remains one of Canada's greatest theatrical treasures" and The Calgary Herald described him as" one of the funniest writers of intelligent comedy in Canadian theatre today."

Mr. Foster has over 40 plays to his credit including Ethan Claymore, The Foursome, The Melville Boys, The Affections of May, Wrong for Each Other, Jasper Station (with Steve Thomas), The Last Resort (with Leslie Arden), The Love List, Outlaw, Jenny's House of Joy, and Mending Fences. He is the recipient of the Los Angeles Drama-Logue Award for his play, The Melville Boys, and he was recently honoured with an award from Theatre Ontario for his "distinguished service to Ontario's theatre community.

Theatre Collingwood will be staging five plays in total during the Summer Festival Season. We opened the season with a successful run of Queen Milli of Galt. Following The Foursome is the Summer of Love from July 15 - July 19; Trying, August 19 - 23 and ending the summer with Country JukeBox, starring Leisa Way running September 30 - October 3.

"Our goals are to provide quality productions of outstanding drama at an affordable price for anyone living in and visiting the Georgian Bay area," said Executive Director Erica Angus. "With this amazing season in store for audiences, people can begin planning their 2014 summer theatre season now."

Theatre Collingwood offers many ticket and membership options as well as gift packages for theatre-goers of all ages, so people can come out and enjoy the exciting season.
