A community potluck on Friday September 18th, 6pm at the Simcoe Street Theatre, 65 Simcoe St. Participants are asked to create a mindful dish where you consider some or all of the following criteria:
Where did you get the ingredients? How did you come up with the recipe? How do the ingredients benefit your health? How are you going to display and serve the dish?
For example - presented in a locally crafted dish - or possibly a dish you brought back from a special place. The serving dish could also be made from organic material. Create a short video, perhaps with your phone - no more then 1-3 minutes, or a short write up with a photo, describing the dish and how and why you are creating it. For example, how you venture out to your garden to pick some of the ingredients, or how you are preparing it as a team. Anything that you would like to share with others that makes this dish special to you.
Your dish will be judged by a local celebrity artists and chefs - for originality, flavour and presentation. The Judges are: Steve Corner, a.k.a., Steve the Potter, Andrea Greyerbiehl of Azzurra and Heather Goldsworthy, food photographer.
Please submit your short video clip or write up by September 12th. The submissions will be presented at the theatre the day of the event.
After judging everyone sits down in the Press Room to share this delicious meal. Please bring your own plate and cutlery.
