The TELUS Triple Challenge, Ontario’s most anticipated ski and snowboard festival is back for its 8th year at Blue Mountain Resort. Commencing Thursday, March 11, 2010 and running through Sunday, March 13th this event offers 3 action-packed days of intense competition, DJ showcases, amazing after-parties and spring skiing and riding at its best!
Canadian radio and television personality Josie Dye, of 102.1 the Edge and Oh So Cosmo! fame, will join us live on location as the event emcee paired with Olympic halfpipe coach, Jesse Fulton and local pro rider, Harrison Grey. Their involvement in the event speaks to the evolution of this once small grass roots festival, now a stomping ground for international athletes throwing down some of the biggest and badest tricks in freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
This final event of Blue Mountain’s 2010 season has reached the epic proportions and mass appeal amongst athletes and spectators! This is a chance for Ontario audiences to experience the thrills of events like the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler, BC or TELUS Spin at Mont Tremblant without having to leave their own back yard.
Exciting changes are in store for 2010 including a central on-hill events site featuring the Slopestyle contest, Rail Jam and Big Air Finale all on Smart Alec. This new location provides prime viewing and easy access to all the Village shops, bars and after parties.
Saturday Night’s Big Air Finale is an event highlight and not to be missed. Showcasing some of the best pro riders in the world launching themselves at high speeds off the big air jump, this event always draws a large crowd of ski and snowboard enthusiasts. The celebration continues following the Big Air Finale at the legendary Coors Light After Party in the Grand Central Lodge. The DJ showcase will feature Fritz Helder and the Phantoms, who are signed on Nelly Furtado’s new label. Check out our site for more details. The addition of a slope side Coors Light beer garden is bound to be a hit for those of you 19 and older. Crack open a cold one while taking in the action from the best seats on-hill.
As in past years, the Slopestyle and Rail events will be open to all riders so that those of you who think you can run with the top Pros have a chance to throw down.
Stay tuned to the news section of the TELUS Triple Challenge website for continuous updates. Individual event schedules can be found online.
