Switch Video, an animated video production company located in downtown Collingwood, is inviting Georgian Triangle residents to help support the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation.
The company announced today that from October 14 to December 31, 2011, it will be donating five percent of sales proceeds from any referral from the local area to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation.
Andrew Angus, founder and CEO of Switch Video says, “As a small company in Collingwood, Switch Video has received incredible support from within the community. Because our employees love living and working in the Georgian Triangle, we want to give back to the community to thank them for this support. This program is a great way to encourage people to refer Switch to other organizations, likely outside of our local community, while at the same time, allowing us to give back to the hospital foundation.”
Web video production is a relatively new and rapidly growing industry. Recently, the three year old company placed sixteenth on the PROFIT HOT 50 list, a definitive ranking of Canada’s Top New Growth Companies. This month, Andrew Angus is featured on the cover of the October 2011 issue of On the Bay magazine, for an article titled The New Entrepreneurs. Switch Video generates almost all of its revenue outside of the Georgian Triangle with 90 percent coming from outside of Canada. By offering to donate five percent of sales from local referrals, Angus hopes to make strong connections within the Georgian Triangle and entice people to refer Switch to potential clients, while at the same time, giving back to the community. “Part of the reason why I started this business in the area was because of how connected people in this community are to a variety of successful Canadian companies, who would benefit from our services,” says Angus. “This initiative is a great way for the community to support Switch, a growing local company, and for people to help out a great cause.”
