The 3rd Annual Collingwood Ski Movie Night at the Historic Gayety Theatre in Collingwood features the Ontario premiere of Way of Life - the new film from Teton Gravity Research (TGR). This year's screening is in support of the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital Foundation's New Age of Care capital campaign.

Volunteer organizer Kevin Nash enthusiastically shared the group's reasons for hosting the party: "Collingwood is the skiing capital of Ontario, and the historic Gayety Theatre is the perfect venue with the perfect vibe - it's the perfect combination for a gala ski movie premiere. And what better cause unites us than the Collingwood Hospital? Whether we are weekend warriors at one of our local private ski clubs or night skiing out of the 'trunk of our car', our local hospital is there for us 'just in case'. We're raising funds for important new diagnostic equipment. Our hospital needs our help."

Shot on location in 2013, Teton Gravity Research's Way of Life takes you on a journey to the mountains and inside the minds of today's top athletes. With stunning imagery this film explores the origins of skiing in Austria, the search for original lines in Alaska, and the U.S. Freeskiing Team's quest for Olympic gold. The adventure also leads athletes to the rugged terrain of Jackson Hole and the Tetons, as well as the backcountry of British Columbia. Regardless of the terrain they ride, the athletes featured in Way of Life push the boundaries of what's possible. This journey takes them across the globe as they form a brotherhood that needs no language.

"We have a fantastic group of volunteers that put on an exciting, very full evening", Nash continued. "The 'unofficial start of winter' is far more than a movie night - it is a gala movie premiere, a skiers' pre-season reunion, a fundraiser for a common concern, and a celebration of the best sport in the world where you don't keep score."

"On Saturday November 16th the Gayety Theatre's doors open by 7:00pm. Come early and share a cold Creemore with your friends. At 8:00 we show a few short films to set the tone and get things rocking. This year we have a bonus, extra special, SURPRISE short film! During a short intermission we share great door prizes from our very supportive local sports retailers. Then it's on to the Ontario premiere of Way of Life."

Organizers are looking forward to their third consecutive SOLD OUT EVENT so act quickly. Tickets are $20.00 each and available in person at Kamikaze Bikes on First Street in Collingwood or online at the G&M website.
