|Georgian Bay Titans Rugby Football Club Registration at the Collingwood YMCA.
The Georgian Bay Titans Rugby Football Club is anticipating another exciting season of league rugby for both new and experienced players. This is a great opportunity for athletes to stay in shape over the summer while playing a wonderful sport that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives.
Players can register at the Collingwood YMCA on the following dates:
The Georgian Bay Titans/Optimists Mini Co-Ed Flag Rugby League will teach boys and girls 6 – 12 years of age the basics of rugby in a fun, non-contact environment. The league runs Wednesdays and each night athletes will spend time learning the skills of the game and then put their knowledge to work in a house-league style game. Teams also have the opportunity to participate in monthly weekend tournaments.
Junior boys tackle rugby will be offered in several age groups: U14, U16, U18, & U20. This program builds upon skills learned during high school and is competitive with other clubs in all divisions. Junior players can try out for provincial teams, attend the National Capital Youth Rugby Festival in Ottawa, take part in games, tournaments and skills clinics and play against European touring teams. Many exciting activities are planned for this season.
Kirsty Stevenson, President of the Titans, expects a successful fifth season for the club, “Last year we drew players from throughout the Georgian Triangle. This year we are going to build upon our past accomplishments with more teams, more players and more games. We’re looking forward to another fabulous rugby season!”
Practices run twice a week from early May until the end of August at Collingwood Collegiate Institute and/or jean Vanier Catholic High School. Games are free to watch and spectators are welcome. Interested parties can contact the club at 705.446.0200 or by email at email@example.com. Further information may be found on the Titans website.
