Roxy Rides Again (Posted On: Thursday, January 12, 2012)

After the success of last year’s Roxy Ride Program, Eve Northmore is back again for year two of the ALL girls ride program!
Since 2006, when Eve founded the Women’s Snowboarding Federation (WSF) with friends, Lindsay Deruyter and Amanda Boddington, it has become Eve’s full time job working to provide private clinics, various events through partnership organizations such as Rugged Riders, Billabong,

The Association of Ontario Snowboarder and The National Women in Snowboarding Program. Roxy Ride and Roxy Core Programs both run underneath WSF.

Last year Roxy partnered with the Women’s Snowboard Federation and the Canadian Snowboard - Women In Snowboarding Program, to create the inaugural, and now annual, all girls freestyle snowboard school in Ontario.  Approaching full capacity last year, the program demonstrated the dire need for a strictly all girls snowboard coaching program in the province of Ontario.  Stopping province wide at Blue Mountain, Lakeridge, Glen Eden, Horseshoe and Beaver Valley, Roxy’s first season was a huge success!

New this year is the Roxy Core Program for girls who really want to push their boundaries.  Roxy has added the Core competitive program to the curriculum for girls who are looking for a more intensive training and competitive riding program.  There are 6 spots available for the Core Program so sign up now.
The Program gives girls ages 13 and up (with a special consideration given to strong younger riders) the opportunity to learn how to jump, shred and slay the pipe alongside some of Canada’s top female coaches.  Led by a team of 11 including head coach, Meg Watson, the biggest focus of the program is based on fun, progression, and encouragement.  “Our coaches are there to push the girls outside of their comfort zone in a safe and fun environment,” states Eve.

Included in the program:
• RoXy goodie bag
• AOS membership
• Participate in the Quiksilver, King & Queen of the Park Series
• Free entry to all girls events run by Shred Sisters if signed up for 2 day program
• An opportunity to be a core RoXy Girl

Program rates:
Roxy Ride - $350 (8 weeks)
Roxy Core - $400 (8 weeks)
Weeknights (6:30 – 9:00 p.m.)

This season, learn to ride, jump, spin, and jib with Roxy at a resort near you!  For more information about the program, visit the Roxy site or e-mail: eve@womenssnowboardfederation.comCheck out pics from last year’s group here.
