Ravenna is bursting with excitement! With a grand opening scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend, the proud new owners of the Ravenna Country Market are busy baking up a storm!
For the past two months husband and wife teams Roy Genoe and Monica Wolf together with Chef Roger Genoe and his wife Angje have been giving a bright new facelift to the interior of the Market located at the junction of Grey Road 19 and Grey Road 2.
For those of you who don’t know where that is and are coming from Collingwood, just drive up Scenic Caves Road, follow the curves all the way to the very top of the escarpment and keep going. The first stop sign is Banks…once you hit the second stop sign…you’re in Ravenna!
The Ravenna Country Market has everything you would expect to find in a small town country store. Fresh baked pies, breads, butter tarts, a full pantry of dry and canned goods, plus fresh dairy products. The new owners are planning on carrying seasonal fresh produce and also offer fresh and frozen gourmet to go meals. You’ll be able to zip by and grab a cappuccino and croissant for breakfast or a fabulous fresh lunch.
Many of the products available are sourced from local suppliers like the frozen cuts of beef that are hormone and antibiotic free. You can also find Ashanti Coffee, maple syrup and home made jams and preserves. This is just the beginning.
The smells that greet as you walk in the door confirm that Chef Roger is not newbie in the kitchen. Simply delicious and the best part is yet to come. Cooking demonstrations and classes are in the forecast.
Grand Opening Thanksgiving weekend hours of operation are Saturday from 8am – 6pm, Sunday from 9am – 5pm and Monday from 10am – 4pm. You can pop by and purchase an Apple Blossom for only $4.
Regular hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 7am – 7pm, Saturday 8am – 6pm and Sunday 9am – 5pm.
