What are your plans for the long weekend?  While you're thinking about it take some time to remember how lucky you are to be Canadian.  Yeay our website and in particular our community photo gallery is now more mobile and tablet friendly so if you've been unable to see some of our pictures on your iphone or ipad you'll be able to now.  We’ve got lots of great info for you about Farmers' Markets, Canada Day festivities, The Art Chair Project, Summer Camps, Festivals, Foodie Events and more.

So as you're walking around beautiful historic Downtown Collingwood you'll likely have noticed all of fabulous Art Chairs peppered throughout.  To find out more about this great initiative watch the video it's pretty cool and I love the way that the students from CCI have been involved.

Farmers Markets are in full swing all summer long usually until Thanksgiving weekend.  Each week you can find great new stuff and it seems to be a bit of a social thing.  The Collingwood Farmers Market runs rain or shine every Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., outdoors in the Second and Pine Street municipal parking lot.  For more information visit the Downtown Collingwood website.  Click here for a list of Country and Farm Markets in our area.

If you still haven't figured out what to do with your little darlings this summer here are some great suggestions for summer camp:
There is an amazing line up of summer programs available at $10 per day per kid from the Collingwood Museum and the Craigleith Depot all summer long.  Click here to find all of the details.

PLUNGE! SUPER CAMP - Keep your kids active all summer long with one of the Plunge! Super Camp programs. The program is available for ages 4 -14 and includes swimming lessons at Plunge! Aquatic Centre, plus additional outdoor activities. New this year Plunge! Super Camp will be offering Leader in Training (L.I.T) programs for ages 12-17. L.I.T.'s will have the opportunity to obtain certificates in Babysitting, Emergency First Aid & CPR, Coaching and Lifesaving Certifications.  For more information visit their website.

Free Spirit Tours is always a summer camp favourite for kids.  The aim of their Kids Camp is to provide a unique outdoor experience where children are challenged to develop skills that increase their self-confidence and encourages respect and responsibility for themselves and the environment. We believe kids learn by doing and provide outdoor-based activities that encourage active participation in a safe and fun environment.  For more information visit their website.
The Environment Network offers some fantastic summer camp options.  For more information visit their website.
