The region’s only community water adventure attraction is back and better than ever. Plunge! Aquatic Centre, located in the heart of the Blue Mountain Village, recently completed a major facelift and re-opened its pools to the public. In addition to some exciting upgrades, Plunge! has increased its commitment to community programming to better serve local residents and aquatic lovers alike.
To celebrate the grand re-opening of Plunge!, the facility is hosting a free community swim on Saturday, November 19th from 1-3 p.m.
“We look forward to introducing the new Plunge! to the community and our guests,” said Kathy Boose, Recreation Manager for Plunge!. “The upgrades make the facility look brand new and will allow us to grow as one of the region’s most fun and unique community assets.”
With an investment of more than $250,000 by the Blue Mountain Village Association, the facelift includes fresh updates to change rooms, a new look and feel to the popular “Splash Pad”, and a splashy new tile surface in the main pool and indoor spa. “This is a testament to the ongoing benefits of the tourism industry’s spend on infrastructure that benefits both guests and the local community," said Don Braden, President, Blue Mountain Village Association.
With hot tubs, slides, rope swings and heated pools, Plunge! has something for everyone. A popular destination for resort guests, Plunge! is also committed to community programming and provides local residents with a variety of fun and educational options, including: Year-round Swimming Lessons for all ages; a Swim to Survive Program for Grade 3 Students; Birthday Party Packages; Summer Day Camps; and Town of the Blue Mountains Aqua Fit Fridays.
Plunge! is also pleased to introduce two new community programs: Plunge! Into the Past Program’ with the Craigleith Heritage Depot; and a Junior Lifeguard Program.
