A great quick and easy project I learned to make this weekend at the Environment Network Earth Day workshops.  This is a great project for little hands and the ingredients are easy to find.

Materials:

• Pinecones
• Bird Seed
• Sunflower Butter*
• Strong thin string
• Bucket

Method:

• Gather Pinecones.
• Pour birdseed into bucket
• Tie a piece of string to pine cone.
• Dip pinecone in Sunflower Butter then cover in birdseed.  Pat the birdseed into the pinecone covered in Sunflower Butter to help make sure it sticks.
• Hang on tree.

Now you’re ready to watch for beautiful birds to come by for a treat.

*You can find Sunflower Butter in the Organics section at Loblaw.
