|From now until the end of January, there is a lovely art show being exhibited in the Meaford Hall Galleries. Group/4 is a collection of area artists and friends who have come together to brighten up the snowy afternoons with paintings and photographs of what grabs their attention. The Show itself is being called Paint Plus.|
Norma Lee lives near Stayner and her collection of oil paintings ranges from landscapes far and near, studies of her garden flowers, portraits and still lifes. She has exhibited in Meaford Hall before but as part of a large grouping.
Lenore Burton is a well-known photographer from Wasaga Beach. The detail of an object is captured in her work often with a surprise twist. Her subjects vary from cars to water and always with regard to light on those subjects. Lenore has shown one or two pieces in Meaford before, but now we have a better understanding of her oeuvre.
From Collingwood, Group/4 includes Maureen Shaughnessy who is a relative newcomer to the area. Having fallen in love with the terrain, she renders it in glorious watercolours and oils. Maureen’s background as a graphic artist informs her work with details and light brush strokes to create a harmonious whole.
The fourth artist is Kathy Kerr, a long-time Meaford resident. Recently come to painting, Kathy previously worked in stained glass. She has taken her love of strong colour and applied it vigorously to painting, in watercolour, oil and sometimes acrylic.
Group/4 will be showing at Meaford Hall until the end of January during Hall hours. Please phone Meaford Hall at 1-877-538-0463 for hours during the Holiday Season.
