|With spring just around the corner, it’s time to mark your calendars for the Collingwood Public Library’s biggest fundraiser –the 19th Annual Collingwood Public Library Golf Challenge, again strongly supported by Larry Law of Cranberry Golf Resort. Special to this year’s event is a new price of $99.00 to reboot the tournament by enticing new participants to join in the good cheer.|
“We decided to implement a more affordable price for the Library’s Golf Challenge this year to boost the hype surrounding the tournament. As our largest fundraiser, it’s important that all Collingwood residents have the opportunity to support Library initiatives,” says Chris Gough, supervisor, public relations and technology.
Taking place on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Cranberry Golf Course, this year’s tournament includes new opportunities to support the Library with fresh contests and prizes on tournament day. As is tradition, the Golf Challenge guarantees an enjoyable day of camaraderie amongst great golf, delicious food and fantastic prizes. The tournament begins at 12:30 p.m. with scramble format.
Everyone is invited to join in the tournament. Now only $99.00 per golfer this year is the perfect opportunity for new participants. Golfers may join individually, in pairs or groups of four. Individual golfers will be placed in teams. Local businesses are invited to sponsor the tournament for $500.00 for a team of four, hole sponsorship and advertising on promotional material.
Participants receive a boxed lunch, the opportunity to win door prizes and partake in a silent auction. Past auctions featured many spectacular prizes including vacations, scenic airplane rides and golf passes, all donated by local businesses, organizations and residents. The tournament wraps up with a scrumptious buffet dinner at Bear Estate.
