As soon as you walk into the Collingwood Community Food Co-op, you’ll notice a difference from other retail grocery venues. The shelves are stocked with local organic produce and other products sourced from organic farms. The sunlight streams through the front windows summer and winter and there is art on the walls from local artisans
The selection always varies at the Co-op depending on the season and we love to showcase local producers. For example, our sprouts come from Giving Tree and are grown year round with love and care. Yum! They sure do look delightful in the middle of winter and they’re a healthy addition to any salad or as a garnish for a hearty winter soup.
The freezer and the cold food section is always well stocked
with local organic meat, fish, eggs, dairy products and gluten free bread
products from several local suppliers including Thornbury Bakery.
On the other side of the quaint and cozy shop the shelves hold canned goods, beans and soups and other staples that are also organic. No shop would be complete without a candy selection of course and ours includes chocolates, chips and other sweet treats that offer a healthier option when that sweet tooth hits.
Conveniently located in Downtown Collingwood right across from the Collingwood Library, you can grab everything you need for a quick dinner or stay for a while and have a bite at Sol Kitchen while you shop. The food is all prepared on site and made with a loving hand. The staff at the co-op is very knowledgeable and friendly and will do their best to answer all your questions.
The Collingwood Community Food Co-op is currently having a membership drive - for only $60.00 per year, you can enjoy many benefits including an automatic 10% off on all of your purchases and we're always looking for volunteers to lend a hand.
