May Two Four is the kick off to a summer series of concerts and events hosted by Georgian Indie Magazine. May Two Four is both a live music concert and a local amateur skateboard competition. The event will take place on May 26th 2012 at the Collingwood skateboard park on Second Street.
The competition will begin at 12:00pm and will run until 9:00pm with 25 skateboarders doing a 3 minute

“free skate” that will judges by a panel on a point rating system. The event is partnered with the Town of Collingwood, Rock the Vote and Georgian Indie magazine.

We are currently inviting all local musicians and skateboarders to come by Store 54 in downtown Collingwood and get an application to perform or compete. We need 10 bands to fill the card.  Each band will get a 45 minute set with a 15 minute set up time. We also need 20 – 25 local skateboarders to come and compete. It’s an amateur competition so you don’t have to be Tony Hawk to enter.

The athletes and the bands will be featured on as well as, will be mentioned on all press related media for the event, and will also receive all access passes to every show of the “Georgian Indie’s Summer Concert Series”
Any and all genres of bands are welcome to apply. We are looking for a diverse line up with regards to the style of music being showcased during the event. We plan to showcase hip-hop, punk, rock and roll, metal, acoustic etc.

Georgian Indie Magazine is in need of more sponsors, advertisers and local business to operate vendors during the event. The event’s projected attendance is from 300 – 500 people throughout the entire day. We will have 15 tents with tables available for local business within the community.

This is going to be a fantastic event for local amateur athletes and musicians to showcase their talents in a professional atmosphere. It also gives fans of the sport or indie music a chance to watch the performance. It will also give any aspiring musicians or athletes more confidence to pursue their passion by witnessing other individuals in the community participating in the event.
