With Bedouin Soundclash headlining top Canadian bands, more than ever, Blue Mountain is the place to be for March Break this year. In addition to Ontario’s top skiing and a whole host of other activities, the Mountain will present four of Canada’s top musical acts in free SPRING ROCKS daily concerts.
The concerts will take place at 5 p.m. each day, right in the heart of the Resort in the Village. What a way to wrap up a great day of skiing and outdoor activities.
Monday, March 14: Hometown heroes, the Midway State kicks off the series. The band now from Toronto originally formed in the Collingwood area right near Blue Mountain. They have performed across North America opening for acts such as Avril Livigne, Theory of A Deadman, 54-40, and Collective Soul.
Tuesday March 15: Bedouin Soundclash is a universally acclaimed Canadian band that thrilled the crowds at the 2010 Winter Olympic in Vancouver. Formed by friends at Kingston’s Queen’s University a decade ago the band ‘s infectious, original sound and great energy has created a huge following everywhere.
Wednesday, March 16: Stereos are a Juno nominated pop band from Edmonton formed in 2008. They are known across Canada for their entertaining musical style, which fuses aspects of hip hop and pop for a terrific show.
Thursday, March 17: Mississauga’s Ill Scarlett takes the Village stage with their with fist pumping punk/pop/reggae jams. These guys are a cinch to be your new favourite band.
These four free concerts are the finishing touch to make the Village at Blue the perfect getaway destination for March Break. Check the website for accommodation packages at The Westin Trillium House and Blue Mountain Resort, all within the pedestrian village at the base of Blue Mountain. The ski slopes are great and there’s so much more to do – Plunge! Aquatic Centre, skating on the pond and snowshoeing (weather permitting), plus 40 unique shops and restaurants.
