Either you’ve already taken care of figuring out how to show your special sweetheart your love or you’re scrambling. If you’re scrambling then this newsletter will be very helpful to you because buying a gift card at a grocery store or gas station won’t cut it. Valentine’s Day is all about the relationship and what makes you happy.

So if you focus on that, the most difficult part is already done.  We’ve got shopping solutions, romantic ways to spend time together and a delicious list of dining options, plus we know where to find the best chocolates in the area…I’m an expert on that!

Chocolate

Our favourite picks for chocolate indulgence are: The Candy FactoryAarden’s Chocolates in Stayner – you can also find their products at The Cheese Gallery  in Thornbury; Heavenly Sweets Café and Chocolarte in Downtown Collingwood and if you’re on a quest for better health check out Pure in Cranberry Mews  they have the most amazing Chocolate treats that are not only delicious they’re great for you.

Dan and Julie’s Picks for Spending Time Together
• A romantic evening at Scandinave Spa is a pretty obvious choice and a gift card fits neatly into a Valentine’s card.

• A snowshoe adventure at Scenic Caves Nordic Centre. Even if you’ve never been out on snowshoes before, it’s a great way to spend time together.  With all of this new snow it’s very romantic too.

• Perfect Pairing Wine Tasting at Georgian Hills Vineyards.  They’ve done an amazing job of pairing their local wines and Frozen on the Vine and Frozen to the Core products with local culinary delights.

• An Apple Pie Trail Adventure -  A great way to treat the whole family to some together time.  This year round attraction has adventure packages that move you around and keep you and your family active and entertained.

Shopping

Nothing says I love you more than a nice warm cozy new pair of PJs.  You can find a fantastic assortment for all ages at Hatley Scoops in the Blue Mountain Village.

If you prefer a sleepwear option that has a little more zip to it, check out Tingle in the Blue Mountain Village.  Now that’s hot!

If the love of your life is into spinning, yoga, boot camps and so on, you can find a terrific assortment of well priced, Canadian made active wear at One Tooth in Cranberry Mews.

Into name brands?  Christies in Downtown Collingwood has some gorgeous Lacoste red felt wool purses, plus a whole range of clothing and accessories from Ugg, Lacoste, Sandwich, Lole, Tommy Hilfiger, Victorinox, Alberto, Coppley and Tommy Bahama sure to surprise and delight.

Dining

You’re in luck because there’re lots of options at all price points.  Even with the smallest budget you can dine in Valentine’s style.  Boston Pizza is once again offering their heart shaped pizzas – how much fun is that?  And a portion of each heart shaped pizza goes to charity.

The Pottery located in the Blue Mountain is out to wow you and your sweetie with a three course dinner priced at only $35 pp, plus a special treat to take home.

Simplicity Bistro in Thornbury is offering Valentine’s Day Specials.
