Lots Going On! (Posted On: Wednesday, October 21, 2009)

We’ve got lots to tell you about in this newsletter including how you can be part of the 350 March on October 24th; all about Girl’s Night Out – tickets are still available! And how you can win a gift certificate for The Sunset Grill in the Village at Blue for $50.

Girls Night Out is a ladies only event put on by the Rotary Club. Tickets are only $40 per person and there are still some left for this Saturday night!

Have a great night out and support one of our local service clubs in all that they do to benefit our community.  Plus, if you attend, you have a great excuse for not cooking dinner on Saturday night and you could win a diamond hidden in a champagne glass.  Click here for all of the details.

What could be more fun than winning a $50 gift certificate for The Sunset Grill?  All you have to do is guess the number of salt and pepper shaker sets they have.  To enter the contest click here.  Still pining away for a good dose of pancakes (the best in the region), you can download a coupon here.

Be part of the 350 Climate March!  On October 24 at 3:50 PM join Georgian Triangle Earth Days Celebrations, Collingwood Music Festival and the Nagata Shachu Taiko Japanese Drumming Ensemble as they start their walk for Climate Action on Hurontario Street at the Loblaw supermarket and make their way south up Collingwood's main street.

RAIN/BAD WEATHER CONTINGENCY DETAILS FOR OCTOBER 24 MARCH: If it is bad weather, please meet at 4:30 pm at New Life Church where the drummers will be ready to greet all.  For those who wish to walk rain or shine, the march still starts at 3:50 PM at Loblaws and Hurontario for 4:30 PM arrival at New Life Church.  All participants will be drummed around the large foyer and the gym at that time. The rest of the day will go on as already planned with a 350 photo in the gym instead of being outside. That photo will be part of the 350.org collage of photos shown in Times Square, New York City for the next few days after the Day of Action.  Be part of the action and be part of the group that gets their photo on display in Times Square in New York!

We’ve just published our Yucky Weather Guide if you’re interested in things to do in our area when the weather is not nice.

Copper Blues in the Village at Blue is starting their annual Steak and Seafood special from October 22nd to December 3rd.  Starting at only $23 per person, this is a great deal.

And remember that Downtown Collingwood is open for business, despite the construction, it is easy to get around and easy to find parking, so please remember to support our downtown businesses and shop downtown.

Get out and enjoy the fall of ‘09
