|Annual Royal LePage/Hospice Charity Ski Day, Karen & Andres want to remind you that the 28th Annual Edition is fast approaching, and they’d love to get out on the hill with you!|
Their offices in Collingwood, Thornbury and Meaford, along with Royal LePage Corporate, and the numerous individuals and local businesses whose generous donations have made this event an overwhelming success, are looking forward to making this year’s Ski Day the best ever!
Hospice Georgian Triangle will begin construction in 2013 of their new 6 Bed Palliative Care Residence in Collingwood to service the surrounding areas. Today, there are 25 in Ontario and with the demographics of the Georgian Triangle the need is already here. The complete project, which includes land preparation, building construction, furnishing and pre-opening, start up expenses, is expected to cost $3.6 million. To date, $2.3 million has been committed and with the growing support of the community Hospice fully expects to reach their goal.
Volunteers of the Hospice Georgian Triangle assist terminally ill people live comfortably at home, or in a home-like setting, at the Susie Newton Hospice Suite located in Collingwood’s Sunset Manor. Along with the palliative care work, they also provide bereavement counseling and sponsor the Rainbow Program for grieving children.
Since partnering with Hospice Georgian Triangle, our Ski Day has become one of the largest fundraisers for this worthwhile organization with over $175,000.00 donated to date.
This year we will also be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.
Please join us once again on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the Craigleith Ski Club for a day of skiing or snowshoeing, lunch, music entertainment and après ski activities with prizes, raffles and a silent auction.
