Having a community website like is a tremendous resource and powerful tool in terms of creating awareness for worthy causes.  In the Georgian Triangle, as residents and business members we are all too aware of the number of charitable donations, events and causes that we are asked to help financially.  There are many.  We must make choices and decide whom we can help and where we should route our donation dollars.

So before you decide to purchase the next raffle ticket, or fundraising gala ticket, please consider the Burlock family first.  If everyone in our community just pitched in $10 each…that would be so helpful.

The beautiful thing about a small community is the sense of family.  Well this family does not have marketing dollars to advertise their charitable cause…they are hopeful that the sense of community and family kicks in here to help them.  Can you imagine being in a situation where you have to call out to the community with hope in your heart that the community that you live in will step up to the plate and help out?

We are very fortunate as parents in that all four of our kids are healthy and I can’t imagine the pain and angst that Jim and Michelle Burlock are going through right now as well as all of their family members during this very difficult time.

As a community we have shown that we can very effectively rally to support Drew Wright, we have shown that we can band together and support our CIBC Run for the Cure Event to the tune of over $143,000.

So please help out the Burlocks and in spreading the word.  Please send this article to as many people you know and if you are a business owner in our community, please give a donation of a silent auction item to help the fundraising.

Thank you all in advance for your kind attention and support.  If the most you can do is give up your spare change in the jar on your dresser…please call me at 705.444.0123 or e-mail me at and I will come by your house or your business to collect your donation of either cash or a silent auction item.
