This Fall, Harvest the Arts in Downtown Collingwood!  When we think of autumn we naturally think of the great harvesting of the crops; but as the largest cultural district of the Georgian Triangle, Downtown Collingwood is a great place to discover all of the enriching cultural activities that happen in our community.

Downtown is home to several galleries and art spaces where you’re welcome to watch artists in action.

Boasting five original galleries including the Tremont with its artist’s spaces as well as the BMFA Arts Center and the Collingwood Library with their monthly art shows, whatever your visual arts desire we have it for you.  For those of you who would like to harvest you own creativity; Downtown has two art schools that offer classes for all ages and all levels.

If you’re looking to sit back, relax and be entertained, Downtown Collingwood is home to many musical forays, from Rock to Jazz and everything in-between. The restaurants, bars and art spaces offer a cornucopia of entertainers. How about Jazz with your Sunday Brunch? or soulful sounds as you sit out on a patio on Thursday night.  The Gayety continues to be busy with movies, live theatre and bands throughout the fall.  Local history comes to life again this November with the Gas Light Tour 2011 production of Whiskey and Wickedness.

What would the harvest season be without the bounty from the land? From the Apple Pie Trail to the Collingwood Farmers Market, all roads lead downtown for your culinary arts.  From casual to fine dining the cuisines of the world are right here for you to discover. With over 30 eating establishments and some of Ontario’s fines Chefs, Downtown Collingwood provides a culinary bounty for your taste buds with many of the chefs and restaurant owners supporting the local food movement.  There are also some fantastic specialty food shops that offer some pretty incredible take home options.

Whether you are a fan of the arts, a history buff or a foodie in search of your next great meal, Historic Downtown Collingwood offers an endless supply of venues and attractions designed to keep you and your family entertained and well fed this Harvest season.
