After several months of renovation, one of Collingwood's heritage buildings is continuing its century-long tradition as a health care office.
StoneTree Naturopathic Clinic owner Tara Gignac and her husband purchased the circa 1890 Victorian home at 27 Third Street from the medical doctors of the Collingwood Medical Centre back in September, and embarked on four-month renovation process.
"There are a lot of unknowns when you dig into these old places," said owner Tara Gignac. "But with some good luck and some wonderful contractors, things went really well. We were able to reclaim the original ceiling height, while at the same time making the building more energy efficient and more accessible. We're thrilled to have found a place that keeps us in downtown Collingwood, and let's us keep the health care history of the building alive."
The clinic will be hosting its Grand Opening on June 21 from 4-7 PM. The public is invited for building tours, refreshments, and to take part in an opening ceremony with Mayor Sandra Cooper at 5PM.
