|The lovely feature photo is showcasing dancers from Fleetwood Dancentre performing during Living Windows. This year the theme for the Santa Claus Parade is Home for the Holidays. Very fitting whether you’re a resident or a weekender. When we were weekenders we always considered our chalet in Collingwood our holiday home. The weekends leading up to Christmas usually included making something or baking something to give away to special friends and relatives.|
As the kids grew bigger, no longer would macaroni and sea shell pasta adorned pictures, pen holders and paperweights do the trick. We needed to find something more sophisticated and we found two great do it yourself (with a little help from our friends) Christmas gifts that will be cherished for years and maybe even generations.
We had a lot of fun with Beverly Smith making a beaded snowflake at Holy Crow Beads which is a shop/gallery and teaching studio in the country just west of Collingwood and south of Thornbury. The possibilities are literally limitless and Beverly has all of the supplies and tricks of the trade to help you with your project. Whether you want to shop for beads, take a class, buy beaded jewellery or simply look around Holy Crow Beads is really something special. Check out their video.
