One of the 12 Muskoka style Art Chairs has been stolen! At some point between Sunday, July 1st and today, Tuesday, July 3rd the cable securing the chair to the sidewalk was cut and stolen. The Art Chairs are a new addition to Downtown Collingwood Art on the Street, a project which is a collaborative effort between the Connect Downtown Revitalization Project, the Downtown Collingwood BIA

and the Arts and Culture Committee made possible through the sponsorship of community minded businesses like and the creativity of our local artists.

The stolen chair was created by local Artist, Jason Alexander and the chair was sponsored by a local Collingwood business web portal.

Joe Saunders Chairman of the BIA comments, “The art chair project was designed to engage our community and help celebrate local culture.  The fact that one of these works of art has been stolen is a sad turn of events.  Hopefully a conscientious community member will step forward with information to help us recover the chair so we can restore it to its rightful place and then we can all enjoy the artwork.”
Residents are asked to keep an eye open for the chair and to report any information they may have to the Collingwood/The Blue Mountains O.P.P. at (705) 445-4321 or Call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477) or submit your information online at Crime Stoppers if you have any information on this crime or others.  Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display, you will remain anonymous.  Being anonymous, you will not testify in court and your information may lead to a cash reward of up to $2,000.00.
