The Wasaga Society for the Arts and the Wasaga Film Festival are delighted to announce Canada's original rock'n roll legend, Bobby Curtola will be attending this year's 5th Annual Wasaga Film Festival Red Carpet Gala Awards scheduled for April 30th at the Wasaga Beach RecPlex. Curtola will be presenting an award and performing at the gala event.
In June of 1964, Bobby became the first pop singer to record a jingle that sounded like a "Top 40 Hit Single," the song was "Things Go Better with Coke". He signed an exclusive contract with Coca-Cola to be their #1 Spokesman. Bobby also co-wrote "The Real Thing" which was used for the commercial "Coke's The Real Thing".
Known for his innovation, wealth of talent and his immense humanitarianism, Bobby Curtola is truly "Canada's Greatest Rock n' Roll Legend". With over 25 gold single records and the massive success of his signature song "Fortune Teller" that sold 2.5 million records worldwide. Forty-years later, Bobby Curtola is still performing sold out concerts to his loyal fans.
Over the years, Bobby has performed and befriended many of the most influential musicians of all time including: Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Mick Jagger, The Rat Pack, Roy Orbison, Chubby Checker, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Canadian icons Michael Buble, The Guess Who, Celine Dion, and many more.
Bobby Curtola is presented by Wasaga Beach Brewing Company a partner of the film festival. The company has already been working with Wasaga Film Festival in acquiring Bobby Curtola to be presenting and performing at the upcoming gala event.
