We are pleased to announce the first annual Community Longtable 2016 Dinner, in conjunction with the release of The South Georgian Community Cookbook, will be taking place June 26th 2016. The 2016 Longtable Dinner "On The Rocks" will feature chefs and producers from our local area in one of our communities most outstanding outdoor locations, the Thornbury pier.
There is no better way to discover the essence of our community than through exploratory eating. As such, we encourage out-of-town foodies and local epicureans to experience The Town of the Blue Mountains and its dynamic culinary offerings.
Your Longtable experience will include appetizers and cocktailing beginning at 4:00 pm and will feature treats from Thornbury favourites including: The Cheese Gallery and Black Angus Fine Foods. Other local establishments will be adding delicious starters to your experience as well.
The main dinner will begin at 6:30 pm and will feature components from local eateries The Bruce Wine Bar, Men With Knives, Azzura and Northwinds Brewhouse. Accompanying our meal will be beverages provided by local wineries, breweries and cideries.
Culture tourism is a key growth industry in our area. With a landscape as diverse as ours, we are able to partner with and promote a variety of local producers, chefs, restaurants, and small businesses under the banner of this flagship event.
There is a lot of excitement around our small town and its ever-expanding food scene, and the Community Cookbook is proud to generate an increased sense of place through its new cookbook. Cookbook website click here.
