This past weekend, March 1-4, two swimmers from the Collingwood Clippers competed at the Provincial Championships in Etobicoke On. Shayne Casey-Shaw (11) and Ashlyn Karosas (13) competed in 4 events each, against the best swimmers from across the province.

Shayne placed 15th in her best event, the 100m backstroke, and also bested her previous time in the 200 back by 4 seconds! Ashlyn placed 7th in the 50m freestyle event and 11th in the 100m freestlye qualifying in the 100 for Age Group National Championships in July in Montreal! Congrats girls! The Clippers are on the move, come check us out at the YMCA anytime!

The Collingwood Clippers Swim Club (CCSC) is a competitive swim club geared to introducing competitive swimming to children of all ages. We were established in the 80’s and we train out of the Collingwood (C), and the Wasaga Beach (W) YMCA pools.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to aid in the pursuit of excellence in the sport of competitive swimming

The purpose of the Collingwood Clippers Swim Club is to promote an interest in competitive swimming, to develop the fullest potential of the swimmer, and to encourage good sportsmanship, enjoyment, self-discipline and team play.

Club Philosophy
The Collingwood Clippers Swim Club is a parent run, professionally coached, swimming organization whose first commitment is to the needs of the swimmers. We provide an opportunity for boys and girls of all ages and abilities to be a part of a competitive swimming team and we give swimmers the opportunity to excel to their maximum potential. When a youngster joins the club he/she becomes engaged in a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. The emphasis is not put on winning or losing, but on personal development. The kids learn sportsmanship, teamwork, technical skills, and attain a healthy level of physical fitness, all of which are skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

We have an introductory program called Jr. Clippers designed for children aged 6-12 currently consisting of 34 swimmers. The pre-requisite for this program is you must be able to swim one length of the pool without stopping, and have some previous swimming lesson experience.
