Celebrate Harvest of the Arts (Posted On: Wednesday, September 25, 2013)

This Thanksgiving weekend there is no better place to be than Downtown Collingwood. The businesses of the historic core are full of great ideas for fall, and continue to serve you with all your holiday and seasonal needs along with some great weekend entertainment.

There is always so much to see and do in your downtown but at Thanksgiving, we continue  the tradition of 'harvesting' the arts! From culinary, to visual and a silent art auction, Downtown Collingwood is where your holiday traditions begin!

Saturday, October 12th is the big day. With the last Farmers Market of the season and Free Wagon rides throughout the downtown, your day has just begun with so much more to explore and see. There is live entertainment on the street; children's activities and the art walk - something for everyone in the family.

This weekend is your chance to purchase one of the much coveted Art Chairs. Join us for the 2013 Silent Art Chair Auction, at the Downtown Collingwood Farmers' Market from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm! These 24 chairs were painted by local artists and have once again been the talk of the Town all summer. Silent auction bidding will begin at 10:00 am and will close at 1pm sharp - all chairs must be taken home and paid for (cash or cheque) at this time. Don't miss out on the fun and your chance to take one (or more!) of these chairs home with you!

With Blue Mountain to the west of the town, the vibrant fall colours help to set the mood as the business district is decorated for the season. It is the perfect backdrop as you arrive downtown to begin your Thanksgiving Traditions.

Throughout Collingwood Downtown celebrate the bounty of the harvest at the last Farmers' Market of the season. Enjoy music and activities for the family throughout the weekend, as Collingwood's Downtown also celebrates the many other 'harvests' of the season, including the performing and visual arts and the culinary experience to be found in our many downtown restaurants.
