Ice will be covering historic Downtown Collingwood during the Holiday break.  This unique one of a kind hand carved Ice Sculpture Festival celebrates the rich heritage of Charles Dickens as Collingwood continues the theme of an old fashioned tribute to the holiday season

Collingwood's Carve this Way! Ice Sculpture festival is back with new exciting events and even more carving demonstrations. Get your top hat and monocle ready, because Dickens' Days are here with more than 30 stunning Charles Dickens-themed ice sculptures. Tiny Tim, Cratchit and Scrooge will be in Downtown Collingwood this season in all their frozen finery.

Here is a sneak peak at the festival highlights;

Carving demonstrations will be presented daily on December 28, 29, 30, 31 and January 2 and 3 at 11a.m. and 2 p.m. outside the Federal Building. Hints: Bah Humbug, God Bless Us Everyone, and we hope you aren't afraid of ghosts!

Ice sculptures throughout the scenic Downtown will inspire and amaze you. Don't lose your head at 56 Hurontario Street! Travel the old fashioned way at the corner of Hurontario and Hume Street.  It's teatime at the corner of Second and Pine Street, and don't miss the steampunk revival at 94 Pine Street. Get your free map of the ice sculpture extravaganza and make sure to see them all!

NEW! Battle of the Chainsaws starts on December 27th and runs until December 29th. Watch expert ice carvers go head to head in a battle of epic proportions. Who will be crowned chainsaw champion? Only time and ice will tell. Come out and cheer on your favourite! Enjoy the show, which runs at 1 p.m. each day, from the comfort of a Muskoka chair next to the cozy Fireside Lounge at Pine Street Central.

Don't miss the Celebrity Carve-Off on December 30th at 1 p.m. on the Celebration Stage. Local rivalries heat up with an icy carving competition. Smaller tools, greater stakes! This will be an event to remember.

So put on your mittens and boots, and get ready for ice sculpture days like never before. Bigger events, better activities and greater fun! Winter is here and it's time to celebrate in Downtown Collingwood.

While taking in the festival - be sure to stop and warm up in our of our many restaurants and cafes; take time to enjoy our shops,  boutiques and spas and don't forget to enjoy local arts and artisans found throughout the downtown core!
