|All day on Saturday, July 16th, 2011 - The Creemore Children's Festival speaks to a generation of creative, thoughtful and intelligent kids, and likewise, their parents. Geared to children of all ages, this not-for-profit event promises loads of simple, free, volunteer-driven activities that will capture the attention of attendees. The programming has been designed to inspire children's imaginations and broaden their creative minds through exciting, interactive|
activities and play focused on education, learning, cultural diversity and live entertainment. It is grassroots and all about getting back to the basics of family fun
Discover a children's marketplace, where young vendors have worked hard on their wares, join in a variety of activities such as a sandbox fossil dig or mask-making, attend a mini fashion design, drama, dance or music workshop, visit an Arcade Doctor’s Office to learn how pinball machines are made and get a taste for the extracurricular gems that the area has to offer. Add street artists and entertainers, a live performance by the unique Juno-nominated band “The Monkey Bunch”, a local celebrity-judged talent contest, and more. Top it off with a beautiful village to explore filled with unique shops and restaurants - and there is a lot to look forward to here!
The Monkey Bunch concert is the only ticketed program. With their latest album entitled "Power to the Little People", they could not be more suitable for this festival. Their high-energy concert will have kids, toddler to 10, dancing, rushing the stage and going BANANAS! Tickets $10, are available in Creemore at Cardboard Castles or Just Push Play, and in Collingwood at Three Peas in a Pod, or by calling 705-466-9998.
