The Bay School of Art is a beautiful, newly renovated studio space located in the heart of downtown Collingwood on Hurontario Street. A variety of art classes are offered throughout the day for children, teens and adults.
The Bay School of Art began as a result of a request from a parent who was looking for an enriched art program for her children. Once word got out, the number of children quickly grew. It wasn't long before Michelle began teaching art to the parents of some of my students.
Michelle Flemming graduated with honours from Ontario College of Art and Design as well as receiving my Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from Guelph University. She has been an art educator for over twenty years, both in public and private schools.
“Everyone, regardless of their age, benefits form tapping into their creative resources and expressing their creative spirit. Being inspired and allowing that inspiration to take form is one of the most deeply fulfilling pleasures known. From cave painting, to the Renaissance, to Modern Art, to the present day, people are compelled to communicate through a visual language. Giving ourselves and our children the time and opportunity to create enhances our visual awareness, stimulates our imagination and boost our self-confidence as we begin to trust ourselves, our creative instincts and have fun developing our skills as artists.”
