Collingwood Art on the Street will return in 2016, with an outdoor gallery of art banners and hand-painted chairs by artists of all ages, mediums and experience levels.
The Collingwood Parks, Recreation and Culture department and the Collingwood Downtown Business Improvement Area invite artists to submit images of their artwork and chair design ideas for Collingwood Art on the Street 2016. The artists selected to participate will be recognized on the banner or chair and in a special brochure distributed across the region.
The banners and chairs will be transformed into works of art representing the theme of "Impressions of Collingwood" for the banners, and "Impressions of Downtown" for the chairs. Local artists will design the chairs and submit images for banners which will decorate downtown Collingwood between May and October. The chairs will then be auctioned off during the Thanksgiving weekend.
The art banners and chairs will enhance our historic downtown core and will be a welcome sight and resting place for residents and visitors.
Art on the Street is a collaboration between the Town of Collingwood Parks, Recreation and Culture department, and the Collingwood Downtown Business Improvement Area.
Artists must submit images of their artwork and chair design ideas by March 18, 2016. Visit collingwood.ca/artonthestreet for full details.
